The multicultural history that is not taught in schools for BBC Radio 3, We Other Tudors tells the stories of the widely forgotten lives of ordinary people living in Tudor England.

Historian Jerry Brotton looks at those from around the world who made England their home between the late 15th and early 17th century. Fascination with the Tudors tends to fixate on the lives of English-born elite men (with an occasional reference to a woman), but this series uncovers the lives of 10 individuals hailing from around the globe.

Living alongside each other, we see a very different side to this period and how ordinary folk had a hand in transforming the nature of early English society and culture.
